Fastway Couriers is a multi-award winning Courier Franchise System which was established in New Zealand in 1983 and is the world's largest courier franchise, with over 1,500 Courier Franchisees across 10 countries.

Over 360 people earn their livelihood from the Fastway Couriers system throughout Ireland, 173 of which are franchisees who own their own business. It's taken only eight years for Fastway Couriers (Ireland) to develop into a nationally recognised brand. Having been awarded 3 International awards for Franchise of the Year, we have also been awarded the Best Business Practice Award in 2009, Best Business Growth Award in 2007 and Overall Marketing Innovation Award in 2006 by Swords Fingal Chamber of Commerce. They have also recently won the Irish Franchise Association award as Franchise of the Year – Service in 2010.

The Fastway Courier system offers franchisees the opportunity to own their own business within a globally successful franchise system. Franchisees buy an exclusive territory which can be built up and sold or split for capital gain. In some instances, franchisees can receive a guaranteed initial income along with the weight and strength of a global brand, ongoing sales and marketing support, continuous training and an established customer base. Like all new business start-up's, courier franchisees face challenges but with energy and commitment, research shows that there is a 97% success rate over 5 years.

Each Fastway Courier territory was set up to allow Courier Franchisees to split up to four times, so there is an ongoing recruitment requirement and growth potential for the business. Fastway Couriers are continuously recruiting and at present have business opportunities for sale all over Ireland from as little as €10,000 depending on the size and value of the individual business for sale. Some existing Courier Franchisees have already sold part of their successful territories.

From as little as €3.30* and using unique pre-paid labels and satchels, Fastway Couriers offer customers a next day local and nationwide service, including Northern Ireland. We also launched a delivery service to Great Britain in 2009.

Within each of the nine regions around the country, Fastway Couriers offer a very competitive rate for local service. With the current economic climate, huge savings can be made by customers. With the rising cost of fuel and insurance, some customers have taken their own vans off the road. Customers can also free up resources by avoiding queuing at the Post Office as well as providing a better service to their own local customers.

What are the latest developments at Fastway Couriers?

Over the past two years, Fastway Couriers has invested millions in developing state of the art scanning equipment to increase the level of service received by its valued customers. The new equipment allows, not just quicker scanning for both pick-up's and deliveries, but also allows digital signatures to be captured. Customers can now log onto www.fastway.ie and check exactly where their parcel is in the system and to see the actual signature as Proof of Delivery and thus avoiding calling the depot and saving time. In 2009, these upgraded scanners were GPRS enabled to allow ‘Real Time’ upload of pick up and delivery information.

What support will you receive?

Courier Franchisees are firstly supported by their Regional Franchisee and then, the Franchise Support Office. A huge range of training modules have been developed in PowerPoint, Multimedia presentations and interactive seminars which can be delivered on a one-to-one basis, in a classroom, or at home.

Comprehensive manuals are supplied on CD. These manuals have been developed over many years, and cover all aspects of operating as a Courier Franchisee and are constantly updated. Mini conferences are held in various regions, to which Courier Franchisees and their families are invited. Mixing with other Courier Franchisees in a relaxed and friendly environment makes these functions very popular, and provides the right atmosphere for learning.

The marketing manual and training programs for Courier Franchisees contain a wide range of free or low cost marketing initiatives that are finely targeted to gaining new customers or obtaining more business from existing customers. Any of these initiatives that the Courier Franchisee wishes to implement can be put in place within a few days.

The Regional Franchisee provides all administration services, sales and marketing support on-going training as well as other business service such as customer service support. This leaves the Courier Franchisees free to drive the growth of their businesses.
